How do Tracfone and Net10 prepaid Cell phone plans work?

It is really simple, you purchase your phone and a minute card. The Net10 plan charges you 10 cents a minute all the time. The Tracfone plan you can use for less than a month but the minutes usually cost more. You activate your phone and add the minute card to your phone. No credit check, no contracts, no age limit, no penalty for letting your service lapse. It is really simple. I have used a Tracfone for a couple of years and now I am using a Net10 phone. My average cell phone expense over the last several years is less than a month.
